Our Uses for Wool
Maiden America is owned by Babette Overman, a polymer clay artist, specializing in doll characters.
Babette's works are one of a kind collectables depicting various holidays and stories. Each character is hand sculpted from a polymer clay. The finishing work includes hand sewn costumes, shoes and wigging.
The items range in size from 6 inches
( 1:12 scale) up to as large as 24 inches. Since each character is created by hand it may take up to a week to complete a figure and truly making them one of a kind and a limited number are made each year.
The hair and beards are made from 100% wool roving from the sheep raised on the Overman sheep farm.

All other accessories are added and some are hand made by Babette and the character is then complete.

Fleeces of wool will be for sale in May 2009 for $35
a fleece - unwashed.
Handling & shipping charges to be added.
